A Quick Update

I'm still alive.

I'm really sorry for my lack of posts. Truth be told I've been really busy...and when I'm not so super busy I've been spending a lot of quality time with my hubby. He asked me shortly before we got married if I would promise to spend less time on the computer-and I made him that promise. But I've felt super guilty for not posting... I have lots of things in my head I want to post-and I promise I will start posting regularly soon.

Mustache or No Mustache?

Mama B made me an picture album full of Mikey's pictures from when he was a baby through till now. And I saw a picture of Mikey from about 2 years before we met. He didn't have the mustache...but had the goatee. He looked smokin hot! So, I asked him to shave it off. I have never seen him without it...in real life. And I can't decide if I like it... Granted I'm not use to it. (But the added bonus..is I don't get rug burn on my face and neck anymore..ha!) But we are deciding on how he should shave on the BIG DAY...

More Bad luck..

Mike got laid off last Thursday. I'm so sad for him...and also majorly scared. I hope he finds something soon after the wedding. Otherwise, I'm not sure how we will make ends meet. It couldn't have come at a worst time...But we have lots of people willing to help him put his name out there-and the temp agency he worked for is going to help him too.

Please pray he finds something soon.

Let's be honest

I have been tagged by the fabulous Canadian Bride to receive the Honest Scrap Award! To accept I have to tell you 10 random (honest) facts.
Here is goes..

1. I have never been on an airplane. And my first time on our honeymoon!
2. I ramble. A lot. Sometimes I just keep talking and talking-and I don't mean to-it's just me.
3. I have insulin resistance-so I can't have carbs or sugars. And am constantly battling with my weight. It's very annoying. But I'm almost to my goal!
4. My scared shitless that I won't be able to have a baby. I've never tried. But it's one of those things I realllllly want-and things never go the way I want them to go.
5. I have 2 cats named after vodka. Stoli and Demetri. We treat them like our babies-spoiled rotten!
6. I am the oldest of all my cousins and brothers and sisters-but still seem to get treated like I'm still 15. (Extremely annoying!)
7. I hate doing the dishes.
8. But I love to clean my house.
9. I love coffee and cigarettes. Gross combo-but I love it in the morning.
10. I'm a hair stylist.

Pretty little dresses

My friend Devon and her daughter, Mahala (my flower girl) came over and we had a shopping adventure! We first went to Burlington Coat Factory to look for flower girl dresses. Unfortunately, we had no luck. None of us fell in love with any of the dresses..

Here is one we thought we liked. But then soon realized we all hated it...


Then we headed over to David's Bridal. I am not a fan of this store at all...but we looked around and found one we loved! In fact, Mahala didn't want to take it off! She felt like a little princess. But I thought $110 was too much for a flower girl dress. But this is the style we all liked! And isn't Mahala the cutest?!

Please excuse my camera phone-I forgot my camera at home!

Now I am scouring the internet in the search of an affordable dress that matches the one at David's Bridal. So far, I'm not having any luck. I mean how hard can it be to find a plain tulle dress?!

Do you girls have any suggestions??? Please help!

I received this Fabulous Award from Cyd at The Sweetest Occasion! How sweet is she?! Never thought this little ole blog would be award worthy! But I accept ever so graciously! Thanks, Cyd! It's taken me a while to post this-but I finally got my computer fixed and running! Here we go..

1. TV! I go crazy if I miss an episode of the following: Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, 90210, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters and Heroes.

2. Blogging. I love to blog and read blogs. Ever since my good friend Bella introduced me to these addicting little blogs-I've been hooked ever since. I go nuts if have more than 10 unread. I have to read them throughout the day. I think it's some sort of OCD...

3. Getting manicures. Ever since I stopped biting my nails a year ago, I MUST get a manicure every week. I hate the way my nails look without polish!

4. Redbull or Coffee. I can drink them all day long! I have to have my daily dose of caffeine or watch out!!

5. Weddings. My wedding, friends wedding's...anything wedding related! I love spending coutless hours looking for cute/inspirational wedding related things. I go around and around surfing the web-After I get married I think I will have to find a new hobby...I won't know what to do with all my time!

MIA

I've been with out a computer lately-I miss you guys. Saturday I found out I had a virus on my computer. I tried really hard to fix it. But the virus was so bad that I couldn't even download anything-the virus kept blocking it. I have to admit that it's has got to be the most frustrating things to deal with!! I'm pretty computer savvy too. The computer tech here at my work said I did everything right-but the virus spread way too much. I sent it away to let the professionals fix it..and now they can't even turn it on! Wtf! It's not even 2 years old yet!! Geez!

I'm at work right now posting this (shhhh!). I will hopefully have my computer back by the weekend-and I have lots of stuff to post! And to comment on!

A photo a day..

I found this new project from one of my friend, Bella. I saw it and had to copy her. She is OK with it! In fact, the article tells you to encourage your friends to do it. So, I am encourage you ALL to do it too!

Project 365. The point is to take a picture every day for a year. To capture every moment in your life. See how you change and grow in as little as a year. Life moves so fast-why not capture every moment you possibly can..? Plus, there is one great benefit. You become a better photographer. Score!

I've already started. I have plenty of pictures from 01-01-09. And today I showed the aftermath of our NYE party. I find it hilarious...

Happy New Year!!

Sorry I am a day late..but yesterday I swore I had alcohol poisoning.

Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful New Years! I definitely did. Close friends and family came over for some fun. From what I remember a lot of us (mostly me) made a fool out of ourselves..! Good times!

I'm not one for making new year's resolutions. Last year, I swore I would loose weight. And in a year I've lost 35 pounds. I still have a few more to go... + all the holiday pounds! But I am trying to make this my life commitment. Only indulge once in a while. I made it 1 year-I can make another. One step at a time, right?

2009 is going to be a great year. In just 1 month my friend Bella is getting married. Then 3 months after her wedding-Mine will be here! I will be become a Mrs. for the 1st (and only time) and I will also get on a plane (to our honeymoon) for the 1st time. Possibly make a baby.. This is gonna be one hell of an exciting year!

I can't wait!

Camera Crazy

I hope everyone had a fabulous Holiday! We definitely did! It has been so nice to spend time with family for the last few days. It is also nice to relax now.... we have had 3 days straight of Christmas's!

One of my favorite gifts is the new camera I received from my Dad! The Canon Powershot A2000IS. I was in desperate need of a new camera.. Thank you Daddy!

After I read Anne Ruthmann's tutorial on Weddingbee...I have been dying to take some shots of my ring. And I'm sorry for stealing your blog idea Bella! But you inspired me!!! Check her ring shots! They are amazing!

I have been playing with my camera all night..and possibly went a little overboard! But here is what I came up with!

Problem Solved.

I dropped the stained bridesmaid dress off at the dry cleaner's yesterday morning. And picked it up without any stains! Our dry cleaner is awesome!

Here are 6 random things about me:

1. I leave every drawer in the house open. I will grab a shirt and forget to close it. I've done this ever since I was a little. Mike HATES it. He will try to get up to pee in the middle of the night and bang his leg on one of my drawers... I'm glad he loves me!

2. I'm an extremely picky eater. I won't eat Chinese, pork, BBQ, seafood...the list could go on and on.

3. I've never been on an airplane. Or left the Mid-west. I live in Illinois, and I've only traveled to WI., MI., IN. and recently IA. (I'm damn excited for our Californian honeymoon!)

4. I'm a hairstylist. I went to school-got my cosmetologist license......loved it. But I needed a place where I could receive good benefits and make more money. So, now I work in Accounts Payable for an School District. The ladies I work with are my family...I love all of them. (Kinda like a salon...without all the unnecessary drama) I still do hair-but for friends and family only. I'm hoping one day I will get back into the salon-I do miss it a lot!

5. I was always a size 7/8 until I turned 18. From 18-19 yrs. old I went from a size 7/8 to a size 22. (I know...you're probably thinking WHAAATT??!!) I developed Insulin Resistance (or Metabolic X)-apparently it runs in my family. But from 20-21 I dropped from a size 22 to a size 9/10. It only took me a year to loose that 100lbs. It took a lot of hard work-and the medicine helped too. I met Mike when I was 21, now I'm 26. My weight has gone up and down-but at the moment it's going waaayy down. I'm almost back into my 9/10's...and hopefully by the wedding I'll be in my 7/8's!

6. I'm daddy's little girl. My parents got divorced when I was only 2 years old. And I grew up with my Dad-and my Dad and I have nothing in common...but I look just like my mother...and sometimes I act just like her. But nonetheless...I'm daddy's little girl. And always will be.

My modem is broken :(

Sorry for the lack of posts. My modem went to modem heaven. (I'm sneaking in a post at work!!) I should have my modem on my doorstep when I get home.

I bought a tree too big for my house.

I finally decorated.

I picked up my girl's bridesmaid dresses. And some how got neosporin on my MOH's... (Still haven't found a cure.)

I've been really crabby lately with no computer.

I'm crossing my fingers that it comes today.

a Rock Star and a Princess

Our town had trick or treating this past Saturday....(I think it's dumb not to have it on Halloween..but that's a whole other post)... I only got 2 little trick or treaters! I think it's because we live on a busy street. But anyhow here they are...


The Rock Star is Morgan and the Princess is Valerie. They are the beautiful daughters of my good friends Steve and Rachael.

Aren't they SO cute!!!!?? I wish I got a better picture of Morgan...she had the cutest striped tights on! I wanted to get me a pair!!

I let them take my whole bowl of candy..since I can't eat it. They devoured it. In Seconds.

Has been kicking my ass.

I started it on Monday. And I could barely move yesterday. I've been working out regularly for 2 months now...and I didn't imagine that I could feel THIS sore. Wow.

I'm better today. And I plan on kicking it's ass tonight. I have a good feeling this wonderful little video will push me over my plateau..that I'm struggling with. (Well..I have my fingers crossed) I'm stuck at my 17lbs loss. It's extremely annoying. But I have to be grateful I've lost 17....
