Slim to None

Hi there... our wedding is just days away..and I wanted to let you all know my postings may become slim to none. I wish I could post and let you know how everything is going but realistically I have NO time!

Today I am...
Dropping off my veil to get steamed
Dropping off final payment to our Florist
Packing for California
Packing for our wedding night
Getting our rings cleaned

Thursday we are...
Taking everything to our reception venue and showing them how to set up
Taking my Dad and Mike to pick up their tuxes
Picking up my dress :)
Preparing for rehearsal

Friday I am...
Relaxing and getting a manicure and pedicure with my mom and a of the few girls
Back to hotel to relax!!!

Saturday we are..... GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe these days are finally here. It's so surreal but all so very exciting!!

Work Shower

I have the BEST co-workers in the world!!! Last week they threw me a Bridal Luncheon. It was so sweet and so perfect. The food was delicious and the details were SO awesome. I also got a very generous present. I am so lucky to work in such a fabulous place!!!!

I'm a Godmother!

Got to sign my new name...and we don't get married till Saturday!

This past Sunday I had the honor of becoming a Godmother...to a sweet little Autumn Rae Gonyo. It was such a sweet experience. I am so honored my friends Steve and Rachael asked me to be the Godmother. I will cherish my title and fulfill all my duties. I will spoil her all the days of my life!!!

Bachelorette Party!

Sorry for my lack of posts...things are getting crazy around here...our wedding is 6 days away!!

Last weekend was my Bachelorette Party...it was SO much fun! My MOH Bella did a such a GREAT job of planning it. We started out at a hotel in downtown Chicago...had pizza...opened some NAUGHTY presents..and went walking down Rush and Division! Great {Drunken} times!

Considering how crazy things have been lately...I was able to get a lot of things done...

Here is what I have left to do...

  • Get a thank you cards for Fr. Bart, our Florist and our organist
  • Teach my uncle Mark how to use video camera-provide list of moments to capture
  • Book final haircut/color
  • Final fitting-April 16 @ 7:15pm
  • Attend Bachelorette party-April 18--woooo hoooo!
  • Verify Honeymoon Itinerary (calls hotels/etc and confirm reservations)
  • Book horseback riding trip
  • Make time line/itineraries for the Big Day-almost done!
  • Final head count/payments to reception hall
  • Layout/seating chart to reception hall
  • Florist - finalizeMake place cards
  • Make place cards
  • Book mani/pedi appointment
  • Confirm any final payments due
  • Put together overnight bag for the night before and Wedding Night
  • Start packing/making a list of stuff to pack for your Honeymoon
  • Leave a copy of Honeymoon Itinerary with someone back home
Not too bad, eh??

Mustache or No Mustache?

Mama B made me an picture album full of Mikey's pictures from when he was a baby through till now. And I saw a picture of Mikey from about 2 years before we met. He didn't have the mustache...but had the goatee. He looked smokin hot! So, I asked him to shave it off. I have never seen him without it...in real life. And I can't decide if I like it... Granted I'm not use to it. (But the added bonus..is I don't get rug burn on my face and neck anymore..ha!) But we are deciding on how he should shave on the BIG DAY...

Problem Averted

I received a phone call from our hotel manager today. She had some technical problems last week, and didn't get a chance to call me until today... So, I was able to book our hotel room for our wedding night as well as a hotel room for me and the girls to stay in the night before. She even gave me an early check in so I can deliver my dress early!

Thank goodness she called. Because I was ready to have melt down.

I just feel so overwhelmed. There is a minor issue with Mike's unemployment statement. My Dad is stressing over the seating chart. And I need 25 more people to come to our reception-to ensure my Dad doesn't waste any money. I know what matters most is that Mike and I become husband and wife-but that doesn't fix these problems. I'm scared for what will happen if Mike doesn't find a job by the time his unemployment runs out...that is what I'm really afraid of.

I really didn't want to postpone babies. They say you are never financially ready, however- I think both of us should at least be employed. One of my downfalls is that I worry too much...which leads to me to stress...then over-analyze. But I just can't help it. This is one of those real life - all grown up- issues...that I think we need to worry about.

Thank god that hotel manager called today...

More Bad luck..

Mike got laid off last Thursday. I'm so sad for him...and also majorly scared. I hope he finds something soon after the wedding. Otherwise, I'm not sure how we will make ends meet. It couldn't have come at a worst time...But we have lots of people willing to help him put his name out there-and the temp agency he worked for is going to help him too.

Please pray he finds something soon.

Stressed out!

This is how I feel.

I thought I was ok...

But nope. I'm not. This weekend our guest list and our seating chart has stressed me out!

We are 50 people short. We signed a contract for 225 people-whether they come or not-that is how many plates we are paying for. I think I may have over guesstimated our +1 guests. Grrr! This makes me so mad because there were so many more people I wanted to invite but my Dad said no. Now he is telling me to get more invitations out-STAT! I am doing that now...but I just feel horrible. I don't want these people thinking they weren't wanted. Because they were! I just screwed up! Can't exactly put that on the invitation though....

Also, the seating chart is so HARD! We have a lot of people already-and everyone has their own immediate families. But they all don't fit at a table. We have had to split a lot of people up. It's just been a frustrating task....especially when you have 3 people telling you what to do-and what not to do...and when you have certain guests requesting to be seated with a specific person. I knew this would be hard-but I didn't think it would be THIS hard! I'm hoping to finish this up after Easter...and then give our caterer our final head count.

One more thing...our hotel manager isn't answering our calls. This infuriates me! Let me give you a little background story. The hotel we are using is brand new-and conveniently next door to our reception venue. However, it doesn't open to the public until April 24th. But we signed a contract stating it would be available to reserve starting April 1. Now our guests are calling me and our parents to complain they cannot reach anyone at the hotel-and neither can I! I still need to book our wedding night reservation-and me and the girls are staying there the night before. I am hoping she returns my phone call as soon as possible....it's so frustrating!!

This is also why I haven't blogged in a while-I am so sorry!! But it's been a hectic week!
